Our Story

The Jazz Daddies are a Jazz ensemble based in Austin, Texas. Formed in 2012, we play upbeat and fun Jazz that spans the range of the genre from standards and swing to bebop, blues, funk, Mardi Gras, and 1920's Gatsby styles. 

Recorded in Austin at Wire Recording, our latest CD, Moontower Nights, features 10 original Jazz tunes. The music is guitar driven and was composed by band leader and guitarist Randy Larkin. Contributing artists on the CD include Jazz Daddies Marty Mitchell on bass, Kenny Felton on drums, Andrew Malay playing sax, Shane PItsch on trumpet and Gary Feist on bass.

The Jazz Daddies frequently perform at festivals in the Central Texas area. In 2025, the band plays at the Whimsy and Wonder Festival in Leander and at Hillsfest in the Hills of Lakeway, Texas. The Jazz Daddies have been featured at Texas festivals such as:
